My Permanent Travel Bag

I’m a girl that likes to get about, whether for fun or for work, travelling is something I do A LOT. To save myself time and stress, I tend to have a universal travel bag that is always packed and ready to go. I like to try and keep my travel essentials as small as possible, to save space and weight, but also to allow more room for my makeup which I’ll throw in afterwards. So, I thought I would welcome you to my travel buddy family…

First, here is my razor, I’ve been using this little guy for quite some time, the Gillette Venus Snap Cosmo razor. Small but mighty, the Gillette Venus Snap Cosmo is incredibly compact yet still works perfectly for long lasting smoothness. It features a protective Moisture Glide ribbon, which means you can just wet the blade and shave for a super smooth finish, saving vital space in your wash bag because you don’t need shaving gel – woo!

It has an easy grip handle for precise shaving and detachable changeable blades, meaning that you can attach your favourite Gillette Venus refill blade. You never know when you’ll need a razor so it’s really handy to have one with you always. The mini handle and compact case means that the Venus Snap Cosmo is perfect for carrying wherever I go, ready for those on-the-go emergency touch ups. It’s a must have for me and you can check out the range available  here:

I’m now about to shock all the hard core beauty gurus of the world, but when I travel, to make my life easy, I like to take face wipes, any will do really. Many girls would shudder at the thought, but all i can say is my mum is in her mid 50s and she uses them every day and she looks incredible, so there’s hope for me. But seriously, if it’s a short trip these will do the job and they squash nicely in my bag.

Next up are my faves from Kiehl’s especially because they are small. Travelling is tiring, and I’m getting older, so my newest addition to my travel bag is the Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector to pop on in the mornings as not only does it protect and moisturize that sensitive area, but it’s slightly tinted, so it brightens the eye area, making me look and feel awake.

Then to add a bit of TLC, I couldn’t live without my Daily Reviving Concentrate. The regular size bottle is too fragile to travel I feel, so I have the travel size, which although is tiny, does go quite far. I use this every morning before makeup application, to give me a lovely dewy all-day glow.

My favorite makeup remover is also travel size too so I have one in the bathroom who is a permanent resident and then one in my travel bag. The Urban Decay Melt Down Makeup Remover literally does what it says on the tin. A few little spritz’ all over the face and you’ll see your make up literally slip off your face. The size of this little bottle makes ‘proper’ makeup removal easy on the go.

And lastly my miscellaneous items which include; Peppersmiths, a favourite of mine, I like to have a good mind at hand if needs be, plus they help make me feel more awake and fresh and Berocca, a new addition to my travel essentials, it helps for if I’m feeling unwell or if there has been a night of festivities (if you know what I mean) as it replenishes salts and sugars and is full of essential vitamins and also gives an energy boost.

There we have it, my go-to, regular items for travelling. I can always rely on these to be there for me when I need them. If I have these, then I’m ready to go! Let me know in the comments below what you’re travel essentials are and whether you’ve discovered the Gillette Venus Snap razor yet.

Hello Helen! I love your videos and blog/Insta posts and have been following you for a few years. I know that you are a mother to two dogs and you love animals. My question is, have you ever thought about going cruelty free? At least on things like everyday toiletries and make up? I do not want to come across as rude or anything, I was just looking through your Instagram and found an ad (this blog post) promoting Gilette (Procter & Gamble), who explicitly tests on animals. I can only do so much to say stop to animal testing, but beauty gurus like you can make a huge difference by saying NO to these companies.

    Have the nicest day, Helen!

I can’t get over how compact that razor is, it’s adorable and saves so much space! I’ve heard such great things about the Daily Reviving Concentrate, I must need to invest!

I wish I could travel like this, I literally end up taking everything and pretty much end up using only face wipes! Must remember to take a leaf out of your book on my next adventure..
